Eeprom Initialization Issues / Question [SOLVED]

Discuss Nava construction and related issues
  • HOLD DOWN "START" and "ENTER" to init your EEprom. Steps leds show you the progress of the initialization.

ALSO, you should really do all this BEFORE you stick it in a case.
  • Thank you for the quick response.
I just tried that again - held them down for a second and let go - no change.
Held them down for 5 seconds, and the Nava rebooted per it's 5 second time out.

It isn't totally in a case, just the top panel, and the i/o board is just resting in place, not screwed in - If I want to get at anything I just have to turn it over.
  • Does the Start button work on its own?
  • Thank you.

I tested the start button switch with my multimeter, and the Start switch works when pressed.
I assume it is working as it should, as I am able to hold down Start and Stop when powering up to get to the Eeprom screen.

Otherwise, no, the start button doesn't seem to have effect once the unit powers on, but it has never been initialized, so I assumed that wasn't the issue.
  • Can anyone else provide guidance? - This seems like a weird spot to be stuck.

One of the two buttons is not working porperly (i think ENTER button).
Have a look on bad solder.

  • I re-flowed the solder, hooked up my multimeter in continuity mode, and verified that the switch works.
I looked at the schematic, and tested the non 5V side off the switch for continuity to IC108 pin 4 and I did not have continuity there.
Am I correct in thinking that I should have continuity between those two points?
  • hmmm, in my friends non working build are:
Start -> button off -> no connection to pins of IC108 and button on -> short 8 and 15 and 16 pin of IC108
Strange... Smth is fucked up or I missed smt?
Start button is S17 it should be connected to IC104 on pin 6 btw
  • ENTER button S19 is connected to IC105 pin 14 and R671 and START button is connected to IC100 pin 6 and R639 :)
