Yes the summation of some instruments are not symmetric and this gives panning of these intruments.

Thanks! Just found out that the M5218L in the master section was defective. Works as it should now. But there is yet a difference in terms of sound on both separate and mix outs. The mix out is a tiny bit noisier/ distorted. This especially affects the lower frequencies on bd and toms. They get lost a bit due to slight distortion...

Hope Vincent is still working on this...

Hi - is there any indication of how much each instrument is panned left/right?
Can the pan be changed?

Here is an interesting post where a guy tried to simulate how panned are the instruments regarding their resistor in the stereo summing section. You should also be able to find the actual values of resistors you have put on the Nava in its schematics (last page (15)) so you know what value and where they are.

But, in the end: how much does it really make sense to use stereo out on the Nava? I mean... all other TR boxes have single/mono outputs for the summing signal... (ok, almost all TRs... 626 and 909 have stereo out).

It's a little plus to help getting a better sounding result when you don't have 10 inputs on a mixer. But it's not a restrictive thing in any way. You could just use only one of the output and the panning will become variations in levels that anyway you will control with the level knobs.
