Re: Yocto successfully completed build thread
I just completed it the other day. No obvious faults except the cowbell sounds awful (pitch) and i'm not convinced some of the other instruments sound quite right. I'll check the thread about the cowbell as i saw others had problems tuning it. Maybe we could do with a thread on calibration. The only...

FYI - a 10 pin 0.1" Molex can be jammed in if you remove the right pins - this allows you to have a single connector for the power to the mainboard.

Re: Exploring other enclosure options.
Good idea to get one with a fuse in it (as per my post on other thread). Anyway, i'd rather not cause any delays to the prototyping! I've got my ext AC adaptor; planning to just use that. I do have a question: Are the PCBs mounted the same distance apart in this case design as in the intended plasti...

Re: Internal power supply thread
A few important things to bear in mind here: - metal cases MUST be earthed (not doing so means you potentially could have a fault that makes the case live). Julien's diagram has this noted, but I wanted to make this very clear. - use an internal fuse on the mains-side, not just the low-voltage side,...

Re: PCB Connectors
Thanks very much e-lectronic
I'll use a 5-pin and 2-pin Molex then. I can't quite see what was done with the 2 pins on the 5v; i guess one is not connected
Regards.

PCB Connectors
I would prefer to use removable connectors to join the 2 PCBs, especially while I don't yet have an enclosure. All of the signal connections are standard 0.1" so I will use Molex connectors. I would probably hardwire the leads to the IO board and put connectors on the main board. My question is...

Re: Exploring other enclosure options.
Please register me for one. I'm not fussy about the AC power arrangements. PM sent with details.

Re: Minor errata
Yes, i think the 3rd was R234. I understand now that these few components are where they physical boundaries between the layouts doesn't quite match those of the circuits. Not a big deal, but would be clearer if the parts list matched the layout. I'm getting there ... half way through the handclap n...

Re: Exploring other enclosure options.
Personally i think it would be easier if the rear panel married up exactly to the connectors on the IO board including the AC 2.1mm power socket. The transformer i have (from ESR) is relatively bulky and may not fit inside the case, plus as it is already in its own plastic case might overheat when p...

Re: No Caps missing from kit!
Yes, whilst the instructions are nice and clear I'm sure it would prevent a few mistakes if the Rs and Cs were bagged up in distinct value sets, especially for those who cannot read the colour codes on sight. I'm ok with that but always squint a bit checking yellow vs orange vs red!
