Roland BA662a VCA instead of BA6110

Has anyone had success using the original for a nava build?

BA662 is not a replacement for BA6110

First off, thanks for taking the time to reply.

I am interested in building a yocto 2.0 myself and having a nava built for me. I saw that the ba6110 was used in place of the ba662a on the yoctos for cost reasons and was curious if there was a way/benefit to using the ba662a instead.

I wasnt sure if that was the original vca on the 909. To sum it up, can an original ba662a be used on the yocto? I did run across a thread on gearslutz where a fellow claimed to have done it successfully.

Its not pin compatible and you would have to add 4 transistors to the circuit, cut a bunch of traces etc, etc so it's about as compatible as any other OTA (which means, no its not compatible). If someone is dumb enough to do that for zero gain in anything other than time spent, more power to them.

Simply change pins on original ba662a transistors not needed in this situation
