I'm getting the tone component (ie non snappy bit) of the snare triggered by accent steps, without having any snares on any steps.

I think last time It wasn't happening on steps that had claps on...

Any ideas?

Nevermind - I fitted a trim pot to sort out the noise level, and found that the weird problem had gone.

I can't think that it was related to that, but it's all working, now so yeah
