Power Supply

Hi,

I have just started to assemble to power section for the Yocto. I purchased a 15 V 1000 ma power supply. However, I am measuring 19.7 V (the actual power supply that is). Does anyone know if this would be a problem? Can I use it or need to replace?

many thanks

It shouldn't be a problem.
I'm using a 19v AC power supply with my yocto. The internal power supply circuit will regulate to the required voltage.

Thanks deejayraoul,

You say the internal power supply will regulate this, however I am not sure of this as on the output of the power section, on the outboard, I am measuring approx. + 5 V, + 15 V (these are good) but also approx. - 19 V (should be -15 V)

When you say you are using a 19 V supply, do you mean on a finished Yocto?

Cheers

I used it using the build and now it's 'finished' and waiting for the metal case in which i hope to build an internal power supply.
The power supply needs a load to get to the correct voltage, so check again after you've built some voices.

Thanks, I was just concerned I would fry the chips when I get further down the line with it. I will carry on and keep checking the voltages and see how things go.
