Nava 909 1.02 - No Sound

Looking for some tips on getting my Nava up and running.

Currently there is no sound output from any of the voices. The sequencer is working great but doesn't seem to be triggering the voices.

I have double, triple, quadruple checked all solder points and nothing looks cold.

I have heard of a few folks receiving some bad transistors as part of the kit and am planning on replacing these.

Any tips or advice on where to start with this or what sections/parts could be to blame?

hey mate,

did you use sockets for the M5218L's?

a lot of people had people, including myself, had issues with these ic's getting solid contact in sockets which results in dead voices.

it's a bit weird that all your voices are dead though if I were you I would focus on one voice at a time.

so start with the kick drum, using the schematic check the correct locations are getting +15V & -15V.

i would check the master output area, its possible that you have a dead ic or cold joint around that area.

also triple check your wiring and the orientation the wirings. its easy to get this wrong!

good luck

I didn't use sockets and have verified all the wiring is correct.

guess it's time to dig in and go voice by voice

If you dont have a scope with a pair of headphones you simply listen on the main board by connecting the ground color to ground.... and touching on the instrument output pads on the main board. Also try listening in on the individual outs. Seems strange to not have anything so it must either be related to wiring, the master out (checking the above should confirm.) Or the triggers of the sequencer.
