today I received the case from Formulor.de. It looks nice and with some patience you can make it look like a real box even without any screws...
now if only the third batch would be shipping...!

How much did your case cost on that site?
The whole thing with the cases off these sites is the only thing confusing me as I've never had to do anything like it...
Do you simply send them the files of the case/overlay and they make you it?

yes, I did -- simply upload the files after creating an account (that seems to be necessary before you can do pretty much anything there), then make sure you select the right format (790 x 380 mm if I remember right) and it comes to about 50 EUR for the case with postage inside of Germany.
