    Thanks
I was in the same situation a year or so ago, after taking advice from people far more knowledgeable than myself I ended up buying a Rigol 1054Z Digital Scope. They cost about €400 at the moment and are very good value for money.

It can be upgrade to 100Mhz with a simple software "hack".
  • As above, also bought the same scope for this project.

very useful to have if you will be venturing into the DIY synth world
  • My girlfriend would hit the roof if that came through the door!!! I was hoping for some much cheaper options... My build is going really well, all analogue voices built, tested and sounding great so really hoping not to need a scope for fault finding. I'm more looking to measure the Vpp for the clap. I've been looking at this (Don't laugh) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Orignal-JYE-T ... 2396635524

I just ordered that DSO138 oscilloscope to test the BD section on my Nava. Should be here Saturday. Will post pics / update when i give it a try
  • How did your girlfriend react when that Nava kit came through the door?

That ebay scope has a very limited bandwidth. You can probably use it to test audio with and adjust your Nava. But it won't be of much use if you expand your electronics hobby.
I did similar for my Yocto with a homebrew soundcard scope and pc software. It sounds like original, but I probably just got lucky. Since then I know better.

Look on ebay for a secondhand crt scope. If you don't need the 100mhz bandwidth, a nice vintage 10-20mhz scope will do. And they are selling for peanuts.

It makes noises and I said it would be a good starter drum machine to learn on, she took it I well!!

I knew that the JYE Scope is a bit rubbish but came to the conclusion it would do for this project and at a later date I would pick up a better scope.
