Build finished, still many problems..

I have init the EEPROM, and am getting +5V at TP1.

Hihats sound distorted and awful, 909 sound isn't even there. It actually sounds kind of cool in its own right, but would prefer 909 sounds!

Ride sounds ok at low tune, though at mid tune it distorts and becomes totally bitcrushed sounding, high tune sounds ok... Oh and also no accent is available for ride...

Crash is barely audible and also sound distorted..

BD Attack parameter doesn't work, though I can't test this out again since I broke another M5218L.. I have a couple coming in the mail on Wednesday..

Also, in pattern step edit mode, I clear a pattern to 16 steps and press enter(screen says [SAVED!])

I press start and the sequencer runs for 1 bar and then goes to another default pattern at 256..

The patterns are not saving at all.. and someone in the Nava Software board is reporting the same behavior of patterns not saving..

I've got the NAVA to loop a 1 bar sequence twice after trying the same thing over and over for well over an hour! This makes it very difficult to test voices..

Any ideas of what to look for? I've checked over all solder joints, replaced IC113 (i had it inverted originally  ), checked direction of all ICs..

Would very much appreciate any help!!

Start with verifying so that all components in each section are in the correct place. Also check so that every solder ok (i use an loupe myself to do this)...

Checked that. I suppose the next step is checking continuity of the traces for each section.

I had distorted clap when i was building a 9090 some time ago. It turned out to be a faulty IC, so if all your components are in the correct spot, try to see if your ICs are working order. Try to work organized on each section using the scheme for help.

Hi Aarrgghh.
How does the 9090 compare to the Nava, sound-wise? I temporarily have a 9090 at home and compared to the Nava, it sounds "punchier" at least on BD, SD and all TOMs...

Can you tell me something about yours?
