Multimeter keeps dying.

I'm trying to measure out the 400 or so components this kit comes with but I killed my multimeter and my cheap one keeps killing the batteries. Can anyone suggest a good multimeter that's inexpensive yet reliable with good battery life.

I've used Mastech MY74 for a few years now. Got it for 35 euros, good bang for the buck.

To measure caps and resistors you can't go wrong sourcing a LCR meter. Standard DMM have limited low end ranges on caps compared to a LCR.

Fluke, B&K, Extech all make decent DMM and LCR testers.
