Nava Schematic Errors [SOLVED ON V1.01]
-
Since I'm almost at this step now, would anyone here advise against switching the legs as suggested by Vincent? I am a bit confused now...
changed back to the original version ?Check Mate wrote:I switched the legs again because I installed sockets. Now everything seems fine and is working well.
Maybe it was a cold solder joint on my diodes.
It is really easy to miss the solder going through and sticking to the pads because they are so small!
Back to the original 909 schematics!
So it's confirmed that the original tr-909 schem. works in the Nava?
And you 2 guys that first tried only "screwed up".

@KlangGenerator, i think the problem is not to change the transistor legs. first i was placed the IC34 wrong. it was killing the m5218l at once. if it was changed, the snare was runing - with tune and snappy. but maybe there it was an other error since the moment where the m5218 was broken.
maybe i was making anithing wrong - i don´t know.
i despair...

So I am totally confused now. What would happened to the snare if you don't swap the transistor legs? Does the snare sound weird? or no sound at all?
At the end of the day, I should swap the legs of the transistor, right?

i have not swapped them, sounds how i would expect from the 909 snare... but since my snare has noise, i would be interested to know if swapping the legs removes the noise ? or makes any difference at all.truman_k@yahoo.com wrote:What would happened to the snare if you don't swap the transistor legs? I would guess the noise doesn't come from the transistors, since I have them the "wrong" way (as per build guide) and my snare sounds fine
its not really a lot noise, just some noise that you only really hear if nothing is playing

True that. Same here and I bet all have this.
All people have the BD buzz.
All people have the SD noise.
Most people just dont use their ears to listen for it
