ALSO. After talking with my electronics expert and the builder of my Yocto "Theo Von Drum Machine"

He says,

"In answer to your question : yes, I would be fairly unconcerned about hacking a hole for an IEC connector, but will be unable to cover up the hole for the original 2.1mm connector.
I would probably build the connector into the circuit as per SOP and add the IEC connector and transformer.

This is a little dangerous : when powered from mains the 2.1mm connector will go live, with a potential of 15 volts. No biggie, circuit is fused, and that might be uncomfortable but you're probably not going to get killed. However, if you power it off the 2.1mm via a wall wart, the transformer will increase the voltage and the IEC connector will be live at 240v (Australian Power).
It will still be fused, but it will be quite uncomfortable getting zapped by it.

Oddly enough, it wouldn't be much more likely to kill you, just more painful. (if low voltage side puts out 15v, 1a, before fuse blows then high voltage side will be approximately 240v, >100 milliamps before same fuse blows.

In electrocution amperage is more dangerous than voltage, and 15v is sufficient to overcome the resistance of the human body"

A Faraday cage could always be incorporated.

Some things to think about... :)

Have to thank HappyMum for doing such an excellent job and having these boxes all ready to go so early in the 909 project and Vincent for making pieces available to measure up. :) :) :)

I guess there are some legalities involved with having an IEC incorporated in a DIY kit so I understand the hesitance to have on on the HappyMum case.

Its a shame because the case looks incredible! :)

Thank you ! Nice to see you changed the profile !

OK, it's a bit littler, so my yocto wood cheeks will maybe match.
