I somehow got my snaredrum issues solved, yay. I found one problem: no continuity between R298 and Q48. This is a very short trace on the solder side; I may have damaged it while desoldering Q48 for replacement earlier. Fixed by soldering a piece of resistor leg on the solder side between the two points.
I also saw a visually suspicious solder joint on Q43 so I put some more solder on there (from the component side); I had seen that Q43 is 'close to' Q47. And I re-heated the legs of VR7 from the component side.
I don't know which of the last two things was strictly necessary, but the end result is that my snaredrum has its noise components and the TONE pot works (SNAPPY was already working for me).
[SOLVED] Snaredrum - Tone and Snappy no function
The traces are EASY to damage on these boards
Are you using the turned/machined ones?hofmann25 wrote:
IC39 was loose in the IC Socket (Those single row IC sockets are shit).
I can also recommend bending / offsetting the legs or for a really snug fit I very lightly tin the legs of the IC to fatten them up a bit, works a treat
Try this bloke in Melbourne I've got a heap of 303 parts from him http://www.ebay.com.au/usr/tr909modder? ... 2749.l2754hofmann25 wrote:Waiting on a supply of 4006's (Anyone have a good supply in Australia or Asia?)
Hey man, cheers.
Yeah I did that with the opamp legs. Works a treat.
That guy is good. I got my 303v1 transistors from him
