I think i got it.

The DR-110 could output a "V-trig" clock pulse (+6V, 10ms duration), via a 3.5mm mini-jack, to allow other slave units (e.g. arpeggiators) to synchronize to the accent section.

And in the Dr 55 manual is said DBS output is +5volt 8 ms.

So if a dr 110 should work i think a dr 55 will work too!

Do you think a to too high voltage could damage anything?

Yes, it will damage the circuit but i don't know in what amount because that can vary a lot in each case.
The only way to find out is to test and measure the circuit/components but mainly the transistors,
electrolytic capacitors and IC's are subject to failing in this case and if they are fine...
Keep in mind that these components might fail sooner than expected because they got tortured.

This looks more suited to test indeed but the pulse is longer so you will notice that in the sound, it will sustain longer.

Thanks! No succes. Tried the dr 55 on the first 3 instruments but no sound. Maybe i did something wrong. Is there a easy way to test the parts? Or do i have to unsolder them and then test them? Or are there other ways i can test them?

Let's go back to your original topic and i'll try to sum things up and give you some hints on how to proceed as soon as possible.
I have to go now so probably tonight or tomorow.
Try to read a little about troubleshooting electronic circuits in the meanwhile.
