Am having a bit of a tough time with the reference designators on this massive PCB. The build guide approach, (building each voice and submodule independently), is painfully slow. Hunting for part numbers on a board this size is a real bottle-neck for what should be a fairly simple process. When opening a bag of a certain value, it makes sense to place all instance of that part - wherever they exist on the board.
I've soldered up quite a few large boards - and I know that there is a better way. Normally one would have the board file open and type the number (R8, C655, D137 ... etc), into a search and get it highlighted. Unfortunately the .PDF of the Eagle board file has all the ref-designators as vectors (which is how they natively output when rendering from Eagle), so they aren't searchable.
Is it possible to post a copy of the silkscreen layer of the eagle file? Builders can download the trial version of eagle and make great use of this - it wouldn't need to include the copper layers if that is sensitive information and it would greatly accelerate the build process.
