Software and Hardware

I'v acquired the PotMux library and I've been using it alter my output wave form my Arduino and other wave shaping parameters. However, as I adjust pots the signal either craps out on me or it gets stuck in one section. I think it's a matter of a mass amount of noise going through my perf-board from my test hardware but I'm curious if theres anything in the software that could cause these issues?
