Nava v1.0 metal Box [WAITING LIST]

would me glad if the others here accept my idea and could share my opinion.

This thread is about: are you interested to buy his cases ?
Not : how would you a case to be like ?
If you are so punctilious, just do your own !
Those ones are fucking amazing compared to the first Yocto sticker...

Woah. This is getting way to heated. No need for that language man.
This is a community forum where people pitch in and help, share ideas. Not a retail store.
Put a lid on it.

That's my usual language.
Did I miss to tell "I love you" or "peace" at the end of my commentary ?
Is it really the language (because I can't see what is wrong) or maybe the content of my opinion which disturbs you so much ?

My five cents..
At the time with the Yocto we didn't like the sticker and the acrylic case and nobody asked to Vincent to have it changed, adjusted, or whatever, so a group buy for a metal case was born, everybody pitched in ideas and the rest is history. Kudos to ElSchtroumpf!
With the Nava, its the same, Vincent stepped up a notch and offers you a nice case for a very good price, but it is as is. If you don't like it, set up another group buy!
If its only about the IEC power socket missing, get out your dremel. There is plenty of space and you can actually choose where it sits. And then you cover the 15v hole like we did with the Yocto.
If you are able to build a project like this you shouldn't have an issue with some hardware hacking. With a sharp drill and a good file you can make it with ease and accuracy. Anyway the socket will cover the outline.
So HappyMum, excellent job! Thanks for your work on this case and I look forward to receive it!

Thanks HappyMum
Thanks HappyMum
Well said Jero.
As I stated earlier. Vincent and HappyMum have done an excellent Job. This goes without saying.
I made a comment about the artwork because there was a discussion on the artwork happening. I pointed out which one I liked. Thats ok. This is a forum.
This is a forum right?
As for the IEC port. I really do think it should always be incorporated. For many reasons which most of you would agree on.
I did not know the boxes were finished and no more additions were allowed. Is it in fact finished?
I also asked for a blank box because if in fact I was going to MOD the IEC port I thought I could MOD some other cool stuff too and to save the beautiful screen printing job I thought it easier to do the printing here. I have a screen printer friend who is going to help out with the Yocto case because I have Modded that too.
This is a DIY forum (a situation or meeting in which people can talk about a problem or matter especially of public interest/a place on the internet where people can leave messages or discuss particular subjects with other people at the same time) for DIY kits.
If in fact it is totally cool to dremel out a port for the IEC and the people who know say there is plenty of space then thats great! I am in. The box looks amazing and we all know what an amazing job Vincent has done with the kits so we all win right!?
No one has yet said what a terrible job HappyMum has done or how much they hate it. Much to the contrary in fact.
Lets not get carried away and get angry at each other. Or get over offended at pointless stuff.
This is a community and we are all in this together.

Thank you to establish the peace because as you seem to think a war was beginning.
Just calm down, can I say what I think when someone requested to ? This is a forum.

Thanks guys.
What gihaume wanted to point out earlier is that this thread kind of wandered off in a "case design wish list", where in fact it is just an announcement for a waiting list.
So, maybe start a new thread on case design and who knows it may lead to another group buy for the ones who want their own design.
I agree with hoffmann25, for me an internal supply with IEC socket is mandatory too, because I don't want my device to quit in the heat of the night because my adapter fell out of the socket. I modded my Yocto like that and in the same time modded the circuit into a fully bridged power supply.
And that is what makes these projects interesting, it's all open source and you do with it what you like. Vincent offers you the base for a very good price, but in order to do so, he has to make decisions on forehand. If he has to take everybody's wishes into account you end up like the MB808 project, in a drama.
Lets start building! My Mouser box is already collecting dust and I'm anxious to receive the kit!
