Yocto soldering project recommended for beginner?

Discuss Yocto construction and related issues
  • Hi

I managed to solder this as a beginner, it took me a long time but it wasn't too hard, although some solder bridges and dry joints needed sorting later on... those problems are relatively easy to find though, the hard part is all the other troubleshooting that comes when you start turning the machine on. Also things like power supplies can be dangerous if you're a beginner of course. I was (and still am really) a real beginner when I started this, and there's no way I could have got the thing working at all if I hadn't had expert help from my Dad... plus this forum is full of advice and helpful people who have already made the Yocto. You sound like less of a beginner than me so perhaps you'll be fine, but I'd recommend befriending an affable electronics engineer to help if you can find one. They tend to gather in real ale pubs on evenings and weekends, at least where I come from. ;)
  • If you are a beginner, the most relevant tips as found scattered here in the forum, are concisely regrouped in the yocto building post in my blog..
