    I'm curious about this as well. Why was 32-step pattern available on Yocto v1 and not on v2?

    I think I discovered a workable alternative to A/B hidden in the manual: pattern GROUP. I haven't tried it, but it looks like patterns can be grouped into larger patterns by holding down the respective buttons in play mode.
