1. Is it in its own small bag in the larger active components bag? If it was meant to be in the same bag as the germanium and 4004 diodes (as indicated by the components list) then it's definitely not there, but if it's in its own little bag then it's still conceivable that I've dropped it on the floor somehow.
2. Is it necessary for turning on the yocto and testing it? Obviously I'm going to replace it for the final build, but in the mean time can I safely plug in the yocto and test it? It looks like it's only used for regulating the 5V supply. Otherwise I'll have to put the whole project on hold until I get this one little diode...
3. Is there a good substitution? My local electronics dealers don't seem to have that particular model. I've been looking into equivalents but to be honest power electronics and diode specs are a weak point for me. I'm not sure which aspects are important for its role in the PSU... voltage drop, current leak, breakdown voltage, etc. etc. What are some options?
