I'm struggling to see the 909 display during the day as it gets washed out by sunlight!
Can anyone see any reason why the displays below wouldn't work? They're the same size & manufacturer.

Did you replace R694 with a jumper? This should make it bright enough at daylight.
my screen is also very dark. il try to swap R694 with a jumper wire. hoping this is the fix
I also had a dark display and replaced R694 with 10 ohms. Way better but not superlight. 0 ohms didn't do much difference so I figured some resistance perhaps is better?
Word of caution, in v 1.02 R691 & R694 are swapped compared to the original build guide images.

R84 needs to be 3k9. Also make sure to replace R72 for a 200k and R86_2 for a 10k as recommended by Gihaume. This will improve the noise of the HH filter. And don't use tantal caps for C96 and C106 but regular ceramic ones.
Thanks to its throwback aesthetic, thief puzzle evokes feelings of playing classic puzzle games. Creatively and innovatively, yet, it is lacking.
