Can someone confirm if this is a bug or a missing feature (or a build error on my part)?
I see this stated in both the manual and on the post 1.028b Wiki:
"You can play Nava instruments via MIDI in any mode. Nava is standard GM format."
... but my E9 will only receive notes in EXP mode.
If it's a bug, is it possible to address this in the post 1.028b firmware?
Thank you!
Nava (E9) Midi Notes not responsing in 'any mode' as the manual suggests ...
If you're using an older firmware version, updating to the latest version (post 1.028b or higher) may address the issue. Sometimes MIDI-related bugs are fixed in newer firmware updates.metro_electro wrote: ↑Nov 7th, '23, 14:50 Can someone confirm if this is a bug or a missing feature (or a build error on my part)?

Double-check the General MIDI (GM) mapping in the Nava to ensure that the correct MIDI notes are mapped to the appropriate instruments. If the mapping is incorrect or incomplete, it could explain why only certain modes are responding to MIDI.
If the issue persists, it might be worth revisiting your build to ensure that there are no soldering or wiring errors, particularly with the MIDI-related components. Improper connections could affect MIDI functionality across modes.
Try switching between different modes (e.g., PATTERN, SONG, or other specific modes) and test MIDI note responses in each one. This might help identify if the issue is isolated to a specific mode or part of the Nava’s functionality.
If it turns out to be a bug, submitting a feature request or bug report to the developers, specifically addressing the post 1.028b firmware, would be a good step. Ensure that you include as much detail as possible (including your current firmware version, MIDI setup, and any other relevant information) to help them identify the issue.
