I want my nava to behave like a sound module and to be able to sequence its sounds in my DAW. I just want this: sequence the sounds individually.
I know that NAVA has the General MIDI protocol and I want to take advantage of this possibility. In my Roland TR909 it is very easy to sequence your sounds via MIDI, but in my NAVA that is impossible.
Any kind person can explain the combination of buttons that I have to press to have my Extra9 in mode: sound module?
Thanks.
External sequencing NAVA Extra9
Hey Charles,
The 1.028 firmware has a mode called Expander Mode for triggering the voices by external midi input. Here is some info from the firmware page:
Cheers,
Chris

Code: Select all
How to use expander mode:
- Set sync to "EXP" to enter expander mode
- Press "Guide" to show triggers
- Press "Mute" to enter mute mode
- Press "Bank" to enter gate mode and select instruments like in mute mode
(gate cuts the sound at a midi note off message)

Code: Select all
Press <SHIFT> + <TEMPO> to enter settings.
Use the <DATA> encoder to set Syn to EXP.
Press <SHIFT> + <TEMPO> two times to leave settings.
The screen should now read "Expander".
Many thanks.

Hi guys.
I managed to play the sounds of my NAVA Extra9 with my Cubase (with a controller keyboard).
My Extra9's MIDI works very well.
Thank you Klang Generator for building a perfect Extra9.
