Nava v1.0 Firmware

Discuss use it and firmware update

anyone have any ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem, or is it firmware related?

    cheers
Has this issue ever been resolved?

I have a new build of the 1.02 boards with the latest firmware and the levels of each voice are still wildly different. The rim is twice as loud as the BD and Toms.

Is this a hardware issue or firmware? If hardware, is there a component value that can be changed to even them out?
  • If you replace R419 with a 10k resistor the level will be reduced.

Thank you! I will try that.
  • Is there some relation between the firmware in the Erica Synth Drum Sequencer and the firmware in Nava?

    https://www.ericasynths.lv/news/drum-se ... changelog/

The Erica Synth looks very similar and the firmware on the linked page started on 1.032, the last firmware for Nava was 1.028.

Almost like it's the continuation from Nava?
Would they be compatible between machines?

How are the lever relations on a real 909?
I seem to remember that many old drum machines or rhytms sections on organs have very strange level relationships. Often hihats are too strong and bass drums too weak when set to same level positions if there are individual pots.

That's a good question - hope somebody can reply here ;-)

  • Is the firmware for the NAVA still maintained?
I would love to get the source code for the latest release so I can implement MIDI out for the drum pattern playing.

Sadly I think the whole project is dead. Same goes for the Yocto...
It's really a pity that nobody is correcting the open bugs and missing features...

  • I added MIDI out of a playing pattern in the 1.017 sources, took me about 1 hour to do this.
But as there are many bugfixes in more recent firmware I would like to have the sources.
