Help, I maybe burn something but I don't know what

So, after all the assembly, I was about to turn on for the first time and the 5V regulator temp went really high and nothing happened (LCD was low red for a while and some LEDs light. After that everything shutdown.

Then, I unplug both boards and I measured the volts and everything looks fine. So, probably I didn't burn the regulator.
Also, the +/-15V section was fine.

After A LOT of searching I've notice that I soldered one of the memory modules (the IC23) upside down. I've removed it from the circuit (destroyed on of the pins in the process and ordered another one). I am waiting for the new one to arrive. But, my question is, if that guy shorted the 5V rail somehow, what else should I debug to see if I also burned???

Thanks!

Found the burned ICs and fixed everything...

Hi, glad you could find the problem! I have a similar problem. Could you explain how you managed to find the burnt ICs?
And could you also explain to me how you find the right orientation of the memory ICs? Because they don't have a dot or other pin1 indicator...

Thanks a lot in advance!

Please, I need an answer on the memory IC's orientation. :)

Though I just assume its on the left of the writing on the IC itself.
I still need to know the orientation on the board itself. should I follow the part number as an indicator on the board?
