Connecting I/O Board with the Mainboard

  • Did you notice mark 1 on board?
    Thats the clue my friend.
  • I am confused by this as well. I get that pin1 on the IO board must connect to pin1 on the main board. The question is which set connects to which set of pins. Nuclues were you able to figure this out?

    On the IO board there are four 4-pin connectors (J8, J11, J12, J13), one 6-pin (J14), and one 8-pin (J10).

    On the main board I think the options are:
    4-pin - J1, J3, J4, J5 (unmarked location in the cowbell section)
    6-pin - J6, J7 (no pin 1 marking though)
    8-pin - J2

    So my guess is that:
    J8 -> J5 (unmarked cowbell location)
    J11 -> J1
    J12 -> J3
    J13 -> J4
    J14 -> J6
    J10 -> J2

    Can someone confirm or correct this mapping?

    I'm also interested to learn how I can figure this out from the schematic or eagle files as I couldn't figure it out.
  • Dear Diyer,

    Here is how have to be connected both board:
    So my guess is that:
    IO board J8 to Mainboard J5 (unmarked cowbell location)
    IO board J11 to MainBoard J1
    IO Board J13 to MainBoard J4
    IO Board J14 to Mainboard J6
    IO Board J10 to MainBoard J2

    Here it is ;)
    Best regards,

  • Thanks Vincent. Did you mean to leave off J12 -> J3 or was that an oversight?

  • Thanks Vincent (a little bit late)

    all the best from Nick
  • Does J7 on the main board get connected anywhere?
