Possible to give the snare more punch?

Extra 9 , the noise is there but it lacks the punch (or thump) of the tr909 snare
Wondering if anyone has felt the same and come up with a mod ?

I know very well that it has been a long time since you asked the question.
Have you thought about connecting a distortion or overdrive pedal?

I've had the same issue. but haven't tried it with a mod
