the code does not seem to be complete.
I loaded it in the latest Arduino suite 1.6.9
the MemoryFree lib was missing and after I added it the compiler just spits out lots of "'prog_char' does not name a type" errors.
After fixing those I get even more errors indicating missing includes and code written for old compilers.

i.e.
define.h:120: error: 'PORTA' was not declared in this scope
string.h:55: error: variable 'nameSync' must be const in order to be put into read-only section by means of '__attribute__((progmem))'
and much more of these...

Am I missing something here?

What board to set in the Arduino IDE for the atmega1284?
What are the fuses?

Dear Comboy,

Use Maniac bug Atmega 1284P bootloader or board to compile the code
We use Arduino 1.0.1 IDE, that is why you get all this error messages.

Jumping in on this, I'd also love to get my hands on the source code of the latest firmware. It would be so cool to harvest the power of this community to keep this amazing project alive.
