  • Thanks for this! You mentioned C153/C154 and C155/C152 in the master section that could benefit from better caps, maybe put a reference for this?

    Mouser Part Numbers:
    555-RFS25V100ME3#5 or 647-UKW1H010MDD
    647-UFG1H100MDM or 647-UKW1H100MDD
  • nice Kazper, I just recently saw a foto of the 909 BD circuit with the tantalum caps and wondered if it's worth swapping.. gonna give it a try :)
  • Had a look at the 909 schematics and it seems you've got all the tantalum caps in your list. Thanks for taking the trouble!

As for the electrolytics, most Roland gear from the eighties uses Nichicon caps, so you can't go wrong with the Nichicon UFG series. I actually used them for all the electrolytics in the Nava main board as most of them have the correct lead spacing and foot print. I used Nichicon UKT and UPW for the PSU caps. They're obviously more expensive, but I'm a nut for audio caps.

    Thanks a lot for this!
  • Is the one labelled 33 in the cart meant to be 36?
  • Obviously. Answered my own question using the original 909 schematic.
