    Thanks.
It's a pity it doesn't show how the connectors to the outside world are though.
Or are that the arrows saying "A1A", "A2A" e.t.c?

Yeah, I'm struggling with the same thing right now :)

Studying this schematic and the original I believe I have a clue but I won't have time to check these things until my Nava build is gettning more complete.
    EDIT: incorrect assumption removed
  • OK, I've measured my MUX-board and now I get it. IC1 on the MUX-board schematic is the socket connection to the "old" IC sockets. So that's in/out of the MUX-board. The "A1A", "A2A" e.t.c. are indeed connections, and hence also the outputs from the MUX-board.

IC2 duplicates the original 4051 (which is removed from it's socket) circuit and then there's an added buffer for each output of IC2 before the signal returns to the main board.

As far as I understand this means that there are added buffers to all accents, which is not the case in the original design. However this means there are double buffers for Hihat, Ride and Crash.

I'm not 100% certain, but i think there's a relation to the board revision. As far as I know revision 1.0.2 has the buffering capacitors removed.

Yes that's true for 1.02. For the analog sounds the capacitors are removed.

For the digital sounds there where buffers on the board (IC110) but these where removed in 1.02. One buffer needed elsewhere is to be found in the added IC1 instead.

EDIT: I corrected the text above when I found out the schematic available was not up to date. Or maybe there's an updated schematic somewhere? The one I have is called "Nava_v1.0l".
  • One thing that puzzles me now that I realize the 1.02 board is revised due to the MUX-board (IC110 with 16 pins, replaced by IC1 with 8 pins and a lot of condensers removed) is why the MUX-board was even needed. By adding one more though hole TL074 and a few condensers there would have been no need for MUX board in the 1.02 revision. There's plenty of room on the PCB.
  • Hello, I'm starting to build my Nava 1.02 Kit with latest BOM from Mouser and am trying to double check to see which components I will need for the MUX_SH Board.

Are these the correct components I should be using?
