What was the solution here? I am working on a yocto 2 and hear what seems to be a ground loop on the individual output but when my soldering iron touches anything on ground while on, which I imagine isn't the safest but the hum cuts out and I can hear the bass drum perfectly. Almost sounds similar to the issue you had.
