  • Dear 4teenth,

Any of these shift register will be fine.

  • Excellent just ordered a pair. :geek:
  • Right...

    So after a an absolute ordeal de-soldering IC2, I still have a non-working yocto...

Initially, I had just 1 LED lit, so tried holding 1,3,5 and switching it on, which ended with me having LEDs 1- 8 lit (with 9-16) flashing once briefly as I powered it on.

Now switching it on I have LEDs 1,2,4,6,7 and 8 Lit :?

    What to try now?
  • Left it a bit, and switched on with 1,3 and 5 pressed - back to all LEDs 1-8 lit.... :?
  • Dear 4teenth,

    -Your µC is working
-IC2 is new and well powered
-Switches are right connected and working
-IC2 is well connected to the µC

And you still can not access to the bootloader :?: :?: :!: :!:

I really think you need an extra board like arduino to debugg your Yocto. it will be a lot easier.

  • Could you post a video of your Yocto trouble ?
Maybe i can see something to help you to solve this problem.

  • Yep, I'll get a video up for you tonight.

I'm going to run through the previous test procedure again now I have this new IC in, but is there a similar test to do on the uC?

I guess just check it's getting the correct voltage at relevant pins...
  • Dear 4teenth,

As you can not access the bootloader is that there will be a hardware problem (if you're sure that µC is working).
    PM send

  • Video uploading now, just re-done the test for continuity from the buttons to IC2, and from IC2 to the uC, and making sure that the relevant pin is getting +5 when its button is pressed, all good there..

Just tested for voltages on the uC and got +5 at pins10 and 30, and continuity to ground at 11 and 31, so everything good there...
