I actually like the design, but my first reaction was to lose both the logos. Personally I also liked the fact that '808' wasn't mentioned on the original overlay. Apart from that I do like it better than the overlay.

One thing that I'm not sure about either, is if putting the connector descriptions on the back is a better idea than having them on the front plate. On my DX7 II the descriptions are printed on the front plate and it's much handier than on all my other gear. I actually have a small mirror in the studio for exactly that purpose, look at the rear of my synths to connect stuff so I don't have to move them. Also, I'm guessing it will be cheaper to print just 1 side of the enclosure.

I don't have illustrator on my pc, so I can't check with the overlay file, but I think the outlines on the cutouts don't need to be printed, and the marker lines on the level buttons shouldn't go inside the cutting zone. But those are details.

One idea I do have is to write the 'start/stop' and 'shift' in negative, just like on the 808. Again, details.

I'm waiting for a new offer with the correct dimensions, and then I'll make an appointment to go over there to work out the final design, so there's still some time to get a print design that's to everyone's liking!

I'm starting to get the feeling I'm going to have to order a lot of these things...

Some fair points there.

Lets compile any comments regarding the overlay and I’ll create an artwork specifically for your enclosure project. :D

Nice thread there!

One point though:

I'm waiting the next firmware which I hope will add some new extra features like for exemple (Solo option, groove, etc...)
Perhaps we might wait until the next update don't you think? I'm talking here about the front panel design anyway!

I made 2 front panel designs as well I should share them with you guys.

Very good point, Kluber, if anyone from e-licktronic reads this, are there any concrete ideas about added features in the new firmware?

Also, feel free to post your designs. I will probably meet with the guys from facim somewhere next week, so I would like to have one final design by then.

Thanks Quadram :)

My enclosure is being laser cut tomorrow, so I can start assembly soon (I hope).

I received the corrected offer, the price appears to stay the same. They also sent me a simple drawing of the side view with measurements. The front plate will be 400x250mm, with a 12° slope, making the front 37,5mm and the rear 88mm high. This leaves enough room for the switch and C14 socket I planned to add.

FIY, there will be vents cut out on the bottom part.

@gajimicu it looks like I missed your post, you raise a good point regarding the sounds not being printed above or below the switches. I'm planning on making a design for the printing based on lfo2vco's design, and I will try to implement this idea. I will try to get this done for the weekend.
