Re: (RESOLVED) Fried my power board, need help diagnosing

I reached out to Vincent from e-licktronic and he was nice enough to send me a picture of the schematic of this section of the board. He also confirmed what I wrote above about which components to connect to. I received my new components and installed the replacement LM7915 and 2200uF/35V capacitor....

Re: Fried my power board, need help diagnosing

Looking at the solder side of the board and at schematics of similar power supplies such as http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth_new/WALLWARTSUPPLY/WALLWARTSUPPLY.php I think the output pin of the LM7915 is supposed to connect to three things: - left leg of C10 - bottom leg of D3 - left le...

Re: Fried my power board, need help diagnosing

Thanks FactoryDefault! I already ordered the parts; it is not so much money and it takes several days for them to come. I would rather buy a few parts I don't need than wait 4 days after every part. I already started desoldering some parts; I took the 2200uF (C7) and the LM7915 off. Unfortunately I ...

Re: Fried my power board, need help diagnosing

I am going to start by ordering a set of replacement parts for the -15V power: 2x 100 nF ceramics, 2x 1N4004 diodes, 100/35 electrolytic, 2200/35 electrolytic, LM7915 regulator.

(RESOLVED) Fried my power board, need help diagnosing

I'm about half-way through the build. When hooking up the board to the power, I accidentally laid the power board on a piece of solder wire, shorting one of the 2200uF caps. Now my -15V power is misbehaving. It drops lower and lower (I turned it off at -19) and the negative regulator gets very hot. ...

Re: TUTO: How to get a Full Yocto v1.0 Kit

Like several other people I too managed to buy a 15V DC power supply. Vincent: Please update or remove the Mouser DC power supply link from the first post in this thread! I found it hard to find a 15V AC power supply. The links at http://www.e-licktronic.com/en/content/25-yocto-tr808-clone-tr-808 ar...

Re: TUTO: How to get a Full Yocto v1.0 Kit

Lead spacing of 667-EEU-FC1V221 (C11) is too wide (5mm, should be 3.5mm). Maybe use 667-EEU-FC1V221L ? They are not identical spec but at least from the same series. And the IO board is cut for 3.5mm lead spacing at C11.

I think 5mm will probably fit too but it won't sit flush on the board.

Re: TUTO: How to get a Full Yocto v1.0 Kit

Looking at the power section of the build guide the BOM currently contains lower voltage electrolytics than specified in the build guide. The 2200uF (C5, C7) and 680uF (C3) caps in the BOM are 25V instead of 35V as listed in the build guide. Also, for C16, C18, C20 I only find 100uF/6.3V caps, not 1...
