Re: Internal power supply and PSU mod
when you push the gain up to distort the 808 (some people like to do that, me included) - this hum gets amplified too.. it's not fun i'm with the blue box-shaped transformer.. when the box is closed - i get hum, otherwise i get buzz/hum with the so called "loop breaker" as i've said in ano...

Re: starting a build - some newbie questions about the proje
i also wish some such information to be available in the actual build instructions or so but maybe that sort of thing is better to be arranged by the community in some form similar to a wiki but it's partially my own fault that i did not research the forums before picking up the yocto, so the whole ...

Re: Greetings from the new official firmware developer
MIDI is 31250, that's slow and since you can't use the top bit, you're left with 7, but encoding bytes into 7bits is ugly, so i think most of the time you'd split the data into pairs of 4bit nibbles, thus effectively the speed goes down even more as_hex2syx: http://antonsavov.net/cms/projects/x0xb0x...

Re: Greetings from the new official firmware developer
you need to figure out how the sysex data is expected (by looking at the bootloader, not fun but not too hard) i have a hex2syx app which outputs sysex data suitible for my bootloader, so you could use that and modify it to output the sysex data in the format expected by the yocto bootloader but for...

Re: Greetings from the new official firmware developer
oh, nice
quite poor tho, the MIDI data is not buffered, so it will break if you don't add artificial pauses between the packets

Re: Greetings from the new official firmware developer
setting up a normal avr toolchain (no arduino bullsh*t) is very easy avrgcc, avrdude, and an IDE of your choice (i use Code::Blocks) however, the lack of information about the bootloader doesn't make this easy, and tbh i hate sysex-based bootloaders for this kind of thing because the data speed is s...

Re: Replacing the BA6110 with a BA662
the two have some differences i don't understand, and i haven't looked into it the x0xb0x for example has the option to use either one of them, but the circuit has been designed with that in mind, you can check it out in the schematic in the VCA section normally the x0xb0x comes with BA6110 because ...

Re: snare tone pot reverse pitch
I understand that the tone pot acts as balance pot between the two bridged T-networks which resonate at different frequencies, but nevertheless you change the pitch turning the tone pot, I don't know why you can't agree here... my understanding of the language might be a bit broken, but as far as i...

Re: snare tone pot reverse pitch
i wasn't clear enough there are two resonators at fixed frequencies, the TONE pot mixes/balances the audio outputs from them there's no actual frequency/pitch tuning going on but i also failed to read your first post carefully: ... the pitch gets higher turning it clockwise.. that's the correct beha...

Re: Polyester Capacitor missing?
some components in the BOM get changed because things go out of stock.. so the BOM typically gets updated, someone finds substitute parts.. for the capacitors, what matters primarily is the capacitance value (the Farads) as for the voltage rating: if the capacitor is rated for 6V, and you put it on ...
