Re: Useful Building Tips

Noise Tip Version 1.0 PCB Noise layout is to original specifications and does not cover design change & Improvement #5 from the service manual. (Note: some are covered, this is not) Changes to the following part, will improve adjustment range to set correct 130 MV RMS voltage. R129 = short R311 ...

Re: Useful Building Tips

Cowbell Tip

Version 1.0 PCB, skip the listed values and stuff the following parts:

R44= 100K
R45= 68K

Skip trying to adjust via scope, use a DMM set to HZ and adjust the following to ground.

TM1= 526-540HZ
TM2= 800HZ

Clap should sound like it should...

Re: Hand Clap Sound problem

I've been chasing a problem on my build with the HC on my version 1.0 pcb. The core issue is the hand clap don't seem to be utilizing the white noise in the envelopes and sounds like a bass/snare triggered. It sounded wrong but passed the scope checks until I got to the last step U22, pin 8. Scope i...

Re: Slide switch grounding?

Chaining them together to a single ground point should be fine over separate runs. Just don't make a ground loop by tie both ends to separate or the same grind point. I think from another thread there is 2 ground planes, one for the 15v circuits and one for the 5v circuits based on issues with trigg...

Re: Hand Clap Sound problem

ok thanks ! do you know if it is possible to shorten the noise decay in the hand clap (not the noise level) or only by using noise gate on separate outputs ? According to this: http://www.network-909.de/handclap.htm , C61 is responsible for the verb envelope decay. I've never tried it but I assume ...

Re: Slide switch grounding?

Thanks so much, this advice was very helpful. It does not completely solve the problem of resonance of the toms/congas (especially for the midconga) but attenuates it, so as to be able to record sound! In this photo you can see how i've connected the swithces to ground: http://i.imgur.com/IKaKJgS.j...

Re: Very low / noisy HandClap

If your to replace it, make sure you have a good desoldering station. If not destroying the part and pulling the individual leads is better than damaging the pcb trying to get the chip in one peice. Traces are small, solder pads are almost non existent so it would be rather easy to hurt the board IM...
