Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

Hi Vincent, you were right, I must have fried two transistors. replacing Q28 and Q56 did the trick! Handclap and High Tom (thus: the whole machine is!) are working fine now. I was able to finish the build and I am happily grooving along...! Thanks for the excellent support! (and please consider the ...

Re: Handclap not sounding

Hi Vincent --

not yet, but it looks like your assumption that my transistors are broken is correct -- two of the four didn't check out using my multimeter.

I have new parts on the way, will get back to you after I received and put them in...

Thanks!

Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

Hi Vincent,

indeed, measuring them, two of the four are most certainly broken.

I ordered some new transistors and will put them in when I get them, then let you know..

As so often before: thanks a lot for your support!

Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

Thanks vincent. So I guess I fried them while soldering?

I'll order some new ones and try that, then will get back to you with feedback..;-)

Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

Again, replying to myself... I just finished checking all parts in the High Tom/high Conga section. All parts check out right. I reflowed all the solder joints -- unfortunately I still get the 16th notes playing, even though, no notes for high tom are programmed in the pattern. What could be causing...

Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

HI Vincent, again, thanks for your help. I really appreciate it. I tested pin 8 of U23 and there is only a negative voltage (-0.5 V if I read my scope correctly), but no trigger. The trigger is present, however, at the emitter of Q29. If I shorten the base to the collector (is this the right English...

Re: Yocto PCB only

Hi Husk, why are you saying "cheap parts" and what did you do to break them? I found the parts included in my kit all working well. also in a 1500 parts kit, I think there were about 3 resistors missing and one extra diode, something that was easily fixed but it amazed me how meticulous th...

(Edited) Hi Vincent, thanks a lot for your support. re: hightom: no, in fact I was more eager to solve the Handclap first. the hightom is still playing 16th, without any notes triggering, the 16th react to the accent, though..;) I checked U23 with my scope and it seems that I can only see a sine wav...

Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

thank you, lfo2vco. So at least that's not the problem..:) Vincent, do you have any more pointers and ideas for me? I checked all the components and they were all the right values in the right places. I even reflowed the solder in the entire handclap section. Could it be a broken component somewhere...

Re: wow! it works! on first try! but...

once again replying to my own topic, unfortunately not with a solution. I just finished checking if I put all the right components in the right places in the handclap, it all checks out. I wonder if there might be a problem with either the comparator or the BA6110. Is there a way to check them out? ...
