Re: Is still someting going on here? Any dev-activity?

so i had some little time to modify my yocto so that it's safer to have it opened while powered up (removed the 230VAC from it) since i don't like the slowness of MIDI SYSEX for bootloaders, i was planning to use an AVR programmer attached to the programmer port, with its cable coming out of the cas...

Re: Internal->External PSU mod

i finally got time to revisit this, and i modified the circuit and PCB slightly since last time i fixed a few little issues, removed some components, made the PCB a tiny bit smaller https://i.imgur.com/CEVJMspm.png https://i.imgur.com/nKaMhLqm.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Be0DWyAm.jpg splitting the two b...

Re: Will Yocto v2 be available on v1?

as a "developer", i know how an abandoned project looks like and yocto v1 looks like that to me in that case, it's up to the community to pick it up we (me and one or two other guys) tried to gather interest for a complete firmware rewrite, but it gathered dust now some other developers po...

Re: Internal->External PSU mod

update: my latest iteration: http://i.imgur.com/uIiLLFil.png http://i.imgur.com/h89veQKl.png so, the PCB is actually two boards that can be chopped off (or not) - mains voltage goes on the bottom, into the transformer, rectifier, and some smoothing capacitors - the result goes to connector K1, recti...

Re: Still a problem in my CLAVE/RIM SECTION

in the yocto schematic, TRIG is the common trigger signal that "carries" the accent yes, for the rimshot - it arives at R299 which is 4k7 (that is electronic-h4x0r-speek for 4.7k Ohms) Q60 and the other transistor below it, as well as the passives (resistors) is the structure which perform...

Re: Still a problem in my CLAVE/RIM SECTION

it's not a click, it's actually faintly triggering the drum when it shouldn't so check your voltages around the rim/clave section which take the individual trigger voltage and combine it (with an AND operation) with the common trigger voltage compare those voltage levels to the same place on another...

Re: is firmware public ?

MIDI is slow, and you need both directions if you want the programming app to catch errors you don't have to open the box.. just connect wires to a free USART (RX TX GND) and get these wires out of the yocto box via some existing hole (or gap) this is not elegant, surely, but it's better than switch...

Re: Serial Communication from the Yocto

yup, that's one of the discouraging aspects of the yocto cpu the fact that the PCB is black also doesn't help much there is a 10pin (5x2) header near the cpu, which smells like avr ISP connector, but it's not labelled, so who knows other than that, you could check the available USARTs on the chip, a...
