To measure caps and resistors you can't go wrong sourcing a LCR meter. Standard DMM have limited low end ranges on caps compared to a LCR.
Fluke, B&K, Extech all make decent DMM and LCR testers.

One of my pals seems to be MIA and hasn't paid up for his Yocto case. Anyone looking for one in the US? It's a second run version from kacperpawluk with AC mains option. Switch, AC Jack with fuse holder is provided along with the hardware to hold it in. Feet have been mounted with hardware as well. ...
