Re: Slide switch grounding?
What version of pcb do you have? Do you have one more yellow wire to a ground point? From the photo you have made a bigger antenna by chaining them together and not connecting one end point. Otherwise it looks like a great way to get it done.. Sorry for the delayed response, but unfortunately, i re...

Re: Slide switch grounding?
it's true ... In some cases the noise can jump out. Perhaps increase too much the sound card gain, or by using certain effects, such as distortion or compressor, but after grounded switches and the enclosure is in control. I am very pleased to have completed this project!

Re: Slide switch grounding?
All I can tell you is judge by your ears, keeping in mind who soundcloud uses compression at 128K which enhances the noise floor. It seems to me an acceptable result.

Re: Nava v1.0 metal Box [WAITING LIST]
Couple of things... you have "RHYTHM" spelled wrong on the case. You're missing the first 'H' [resize=800]http://plus.pointblanklondon.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/TR-909.jpg[/resize] Second...there's a large gap between the controls and the labels. I think it would look better if "...

Re: Slide switch grounding?
maybe use plastic slide switch :? if there is some ;) ...maybe it would be worse, because the contacts would remain in metal, usually copper, without the possibility of shielding the switches by grounding. I don't know why the engineer of the Yocto has excluded the switches from the ground, while t...

Re: Slide switch grounding?
big pieces of ungrounded metal function as antennas.. thats all i know. this part of the circuit is very fragile when it comes to interference. The monotribe thing sounds familiar, I undid all the mods I tried on monotribe because of it. I have the impression an internal psu makes the issue worse, ...

Re: Slide switch grounding?
I have an internal toroidal resin transformer. The problem is not so much the 50 Hz hum, but a constant sound floor of the same tonality of each instrument (toms / congas) predominant in the mid conga. This defect is very similar to what i've encountered by modding the decay of the snare drum in my ...

Re: Slide switch grounding?
Thanks so much, this advice was very helpful. It does not completely solve the problem of resonance of the toms/congas (especially for the midconga) but attenuates it, so as to be able to record sound! In this photo you can see how i've connected the swithces to ground: http://i.imgur.com/IKaKJgS.jp...
