Re: oscilloscope recommendations

Affordable and good enough for fault finding, tuning and calibration are key. Hardware/software/usb all considered. Thanks I was in the same situation a year or so ago, after taking advice from people far more knowledgeable than myself I ended up buying a Rigol 1054Z Digital Scope. They cost about ...

Re: How to test the power voltages before adding IC?

My advice is DONT solder in the ICs, use sockets!

Sockets are cheap and will save you a lot of pain if something goes wrong.

Re: Audio cable?

Yeah ok. Also just noticed as all my gear in my studio flows in and out of a patch bay. When you have all 12 ouputs plugged up you can't use the master and the voice channels at the same time. That is if you patch the BD voice it over patches the master. Is there a mod to have the master and all vo...

Re: midi transmit

I'd like to add to this... I found that triggering the sounds from external MIDI literally only worked once per instrument. I was able to trigger each sound ONE TIME via an external device and never again until my Nava was powered off and back on... at which point each sound could be triggered agai...

Re: Weird issue with some step keys

I'd be looking around IC104 to start with. IC104 is the shift register that loads the button states of the step 9-16 keys to the MCP. If you have installed the chip in sockets the easiest thing to is to swap IC100 and IC104. IC104 in the casing the issue the problem should move to the step 1-8 group...

Re: tayda vs Mauser ?

I got most of my components from Tayda and have had no problems. It was a lot cheaper but had to wait about a month for the delivery. As for the sound, I don't have a unit built with Mouser components to compare it against. I see no reason why there should be any difference. I opted for 1% metal fil...

Re: Secondary Noise Source Kit

I got my noise PCB today, I haven't assemble it yet. I was also thinking that the best way to mount it would be drill a hole in the centre and use a male>female threaded spacer to fix in to one of the stand-offs that was the PCB attaches to. Where did you take the +15V from on the main board? I have...

Re: Nava v1.0 metal Box [WAITING LIST]

My case arrived today, it's brilliant. The colour is perfect. As others have said, the photos don't show colour accurately. It a lovely creamy tone that looks really good. I found that the paint was a little think in the "guide/ext inst" button hole and was causing the button to catch. I j...
