Re: Hihat and cymbal not sounding as they should

Hi,

I've finally found the problem, AOP U3 was bad... That's incredible, 2 bad ICs in a brand new kit (I had the counterfeit 4011 also)... That's a pity to sell kits with crap parts like that. Very bad for music DIY projects.

Re: Hihat and cymbal not sounding as they should

Hi, I've checked the TM1 and TM2 adjustments, it was quite good and and I readjusted precisely to 1.78ms and 1.19ms as indicated by DeepVibes. I've also checked the parts values around the U3 BP filter, as indicated by Vincent, and it was all correct. But the problem is still there, bad sounding cym...

Re: Hihat and cymbal not sounding as they should

Thanks Deepvibes,

I've spent a lot of time adjusting TM1 and TM2, but I'll try with the period you indicated.

I'll also upload samples.

I'll let you know the results.

Hihat and cymbal not sounding as they should [SOLVED]

Hi everybody, After finishing building the kit, almost all is sounding very well except the hihat and cymball (but this is most noticeable on hihat). The sound is very different from original TR-808. I've checked the components, readjusted TM1 and TM2 as indicated many times ( and Cowbell sounds goo...

Re: r 151 accent resistor burns

I see what you are refering to, EchoBoy, the man who was trying to resell counterfeit IC from Shenzen to the US Navy is now in jail. http://www.adnas.com/company-blog/caught-selling-fake-microchips-navy-case-reveals-counterfeiter-sales-channels For the future of electronic business and DIY and hobby...

Re: Noise section trimmer voltage?

Hi,

There was a modification on the original TR-808 which has not been respected in the Yocto. Have you tried it? It worked for me.

Replace R129 (330k) by a jumper (0) and replace R311 (330k) by a 100k. Also replace R127 (47k) by a 10u capacitor.

Have a look page 15 of the TR-808 service manual.

Re: r 151 accent resistor burns

No, it will not happen if sourced near trusted suppliers, even in large quantities, otherwise electronic industry will be in big trouble... And the least thing to do is checking before shipping.

Re: r 151 accent resistor burns

Hi everybody, I had the same problem, R151 burned... The 4011 IC with 10HMAND batch number is a counterfeit one, the TI logo on it is a very bad imitation... What a shame to sell a kit with counterfeit ICs, I can't believe it. It gives a poor image of DIY, especially when beginners are building it a...
