Re: TM3 calibration
Hey. You need an oscilloscope. Connect probe tip to TP5 ( its called out in the original TR-808 service manual - take TP5 from the correct side of R375 (470K) can't recall which side at the moment- you can also get a reading off components directly connected to R375) in the handclap section, connect...

Re: Ground loop between signal and PSU ground on the main bo
Hey thanks for the reply (ies). What is described above, is pretty much to a T with my experience. At first I thought I must have missed something, some backwards component, or some component gone wrong or a ground short; pulling my hair out, you wouldn't believe how many times I've checked everythi...

Ground loop between signal and PSU ground on the main board?
Hello, I have finished my build and i have been troubleshooting a few issues. When testing the trigger outs 1 and 2 by hooking up to my SH-101 there was a terrible hum. Searching the forum brought me to this link where a user has had very similar issues with a ground loop : http://www.e-licktronic.c...

Re: r 151 accent resistor burns
I can also confirm that with the supplied CD4011BE chip for IC6 in the Accent section, R151 smoked and burnt. As recommended by keen I changed the chip to UB(E) version and now all is well. Solved 151 problem as well. The chip I put in is : Texas Instruments - CD4011UBE Thanks a bunch for the info. ...

Re: IC4 1/0 Board burnt pad off pin 4.
Thank you, got it.
Seems like pin 1 and pin 4 (also indicated by the pinout in the 6n138 data sheet ) are not linked so i'm fine for that IC.
Now for more troubleshooting fun. I'll post my other issues R151 burns, wacky sequencer/ trigger woes in another post shortly.
Thanks again.

Re: IC4 1/0 Board burnt pad off pin 4.
Thanks for the reply,
I've got the schematics and the Main board PCB layout, I've been over them lots, IC4 (74HC595) of the sequencer section is there, but i can't find IC4 (6N138) of the I/0 board anywhere in the schematic. I must be missing something?

IC4 1/0 Board burnt pad off pin 4.
Hello there, I have had the misfortune of burning the pad off pin 4 of IC4 on the I/O board. I've socketed it and i had to desolder/resolder it.. unfortunately its gone. So i need to relink it to the proper point with a jumper. with all the rosin mess i can't see the trace lines on the pcb where the...
