I had no problems with mine. It isn't worth ordering in advance as the shipping fees will make it expensive unless it is just part of a bigger order in which case why not since they are cheap.

For the cowbell to sound like the 808 you probably need to do the resistor swap mentioned in the other thread. It doesn't seem to reach the needed values when you trim with the original resistor values.

I think it is a batch of bad chips. I was having similar problems such as Bass drum diassapearing when I tiurned the accent up and a few other weird things. My kit came with texas instrument CD4011BE code 10HMAND. I replaced it with a texas instruments CD4011BE that I had on hand and everything work...

Did you guys check the schematic? That little section to the far right looks like the last gain stage. I'm no expert but I would start by making sure those parts are all in correctly.

It just means the capicitor can be used in a circuit up to 50 volts. Since the circuit is less than 35 (the original value) you are well within the values this capacitor is rated for.
