Re: No bootloader/ All LEDs on

Not sure if you guys got this fixed. I've had similar issues with a couple of builds. If the display shows the top line square boxes it means the display hasn't been initialised properly. This points to either the display itself or the atmega. I found On one I didn't have a proper ground to the disp...

Re: Mix Out Noisy/Distorted

An old thread I know, but really interesting here. I've built 4 Nava so far. None of them have had any distortion or issues on the Master. Building a 5th one for a customer and testing the BD and crazy distortion. They had ordered all the parts and the only differences with the other ones I've built...

Re: What wires for Nava.

Any decent hook up wire will be fine. I use 26awg by default, some people have stated you need shielded wire for the master section but the 26awg works fine in all spots for me.

Re: Power issues - is this the right power

That PSU looks fine. I wouldn't connect the main board until you sort the power section.

Would suggest you have a wrong component or missing / bad part in there. Check the pins of the VRs. All electrolytics the right way round etc.

Re: Adjusting instrument levels.

Was changing the square buttons over to blue ones on another Nava and swapped 501 and 502 over to some 9.1K resistors I had spare and BOOM the BD really kicks in the mix, without distortion.

Re: Finished Extra9 build, now no sound

Maybe worth backing out the wires in the BD section to the extra9 board. You could add the original components back to the main board by bridging them in the relevant pins in the connector BD2 for example. And add the pins for the attack pot back to the board. If still no sound, then something broke...

Re: Finished Extra9 build, now no sound

Try and narrow it down. Start with just the BD connectors and power to the extra9 board. Ensure the 4 pin that carries the BD signal is connected to the IO board and the two other cables between main and io board (6 pin and 8 pin) and of course the power cable. Check you have 15v etc as expected. Yo...

Re: Nava9 PCB silkscreens question

Correct, the blue lines are tracks on the board. The blue and red block sections are the earth/ground plane.

Most places where two pads are closer than normal is usually because they are connected. There are three places IIRC.

Re: No "100R" resistor in the Mouser Bom

No need for 0R, just use a cut resistor leg for the jumpers.

Adjusting instrument levels.

There are a few posts discussing the levels of various instruments, for example low volume on BD etc I find on all my builds that the BD could be louder and the RS and HC are too loud. I had used a 2K2 as per Extra9 optional tweak in the RS R419 but have gone back to the default 4K7 and find it bett...
