From what I know it is actually a software problem, not an encoder (search the forum, it is a known issue). I'm going to build second Yocto V2 kit and as a workaround will try encoder with lesser counts per turn or one without detents at all. Perhaps it will help but I'm not sure.

You can hear that some voices are panned when used with both (L+R) Master outs. Toms/Congas, OH/CH and Cymbal in particular.

16VAC will work fine, don't worry. Make sure that the adapter you want to use can provide at least 1000ma on its output. I power my Yocto with 16VAC adapter too.

Mine sounds different too. I remember reading about it and iirc this is how original machines behave as well.

Hi Ingo, did you (or anyone) manage to fix the problem? I just built the machine and Master Vol behaves the same as you described. I wonder maybe it is the design itself since the pot works as it should, except this problem with crackling. Would be interesting to hear from you and/or other users.

Same problem, reflashing with 2.003beta helped but the encoder is not precise as it should.
