Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
By the way gihaume, before I order the extra pots and switches, do you think that my selection of mods make sense? I just really like to hear your feedback if the ones I selected are the most "useful" or "versatile" or "good sounding" ones from the Cocteau board! :D Aga...

Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
Or just give value to your work and cut traces ;) I just cannot cut traces on this beautiful black PCB board :D... it hurts me... Anyway, the other benefit of my "complicated" design is that I can create different noise modules in the future. For example, I can make a 909 noise module, or...

Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
Sorry but what is PN ? So, if you check the "NOISE" section on the Yocto diagram, it is responsible to generate the WN (white noise) used by SNARE, CLAP/MARACA and the PN (pink noise) used by all the TOMS/CONGAS. There is a famous quote from the 808 documentary about how critical this cir...

Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
1) RS Filter is very nice for shaping the sound. Originally it was going too low which wasn't useful. RS Tune 2 also affects the CL so it may be interesting. 2) Metal Tune is very nice because you shift both CB oscillators at the same time so it's easier to detune then recover. Also if you don't us...

Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
Here are a few exclusive CY/CH/OH mods. https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2699277#2699277 Metal Tune affects the tuning of both CB oscillators at the same time. Those are also used in the CY, OH and CH sound. Hi gihaume, thanks again! I am reading all the mods you listed there and h...

Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
I have a Cocteau modded Yocto and can comment from my experience. BD extended decay doesn't sound good IMO, I would prefer Env Amount. What is SD Noise ? What is very nice for SD is Snappy Decay and Snappy (hipass) Filter. But the shape of the original decay is very relevant in the 808 sound and he...

Re: Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
Here is my current ideas after some research: BD: POT1) - Endless/Extended Decay -- replaced R170 (470k) with 380k resistor in series with a 100k(B) potentiometer POT2) - Tuning -- replaced R165 (47k) with 100k(A) potentiometer (audio/log preferably) SD: POT1) - Noise – R201 is replaced by 25k Pot a...

Most famous mods with the V2.0 extra space
Hi all, I built my first Yocto v2.0 a month ago and it sounded amazing. So good in fact that a friend of mine just beg me to sell to him :D So, I sold it and now I am going to build a second one to myself. But this time I've got a case that has extra holes for all the "optional/NC" knobs a...

Re: HandClaP/MAracas section just leak noise...
FIXED!!! Answer directly from Vincent by email: "It seems that the AN6912 is dead. Try to replace it with a stantd quad comparator like LM339" That worked like a charm! While I am trying to source an working AN6912 for "authenticity", the sound of the handclap now is amazing and ...
