Hm, same problem here, only got 15nF ceramic caps. So people say cou can substitute these 15nF film-caps with ceramic-caps, but looking at a picture of an original 808 pcb, these caps are film, not ceramic ones. I also read that you can in fact substitute film caps with ceramic ones, but it depends ...

So thanks very much for the replies. I'll then go for metal film resistors since they are cheaper and the avaibility is better.
Since every 808 sounds slightly different anyway this shouldn't be a problem at all.

It has already been mentioned in various topics in this forum that using metal-film resistors instead of carbon resistors in some sections will improve the audio quality (mixer/power-sections). So is there any reason not to use only metal-film resistors for the whole build? Do some parts require car...

I think you can always replace carbon resistors with metal film resistors since the only difference is a better tolerance?
